I have tried some places including motorbikepaints.co.uk
I have a 1988 xbr in max silver metallic code NH132M
They know it's off the xbr and also a Goldwing but have no paint formula to make up the paint- great!!
Can anyone recommend anyone?
Thanks

Try paints4u.com - telephone 01724 854916.
They were very helpful and made me up a paint kit for my (red) XBR.
Good luck.

cheers- i'll give em a go

Here's paint4u's reply-
"It doesn't look like we have a formulation for this colour on any of our
systems. Sorry we couldn't be of more help on this occasion."
Maybe if i ask them for the same paint on another occasion they will be able to help?..........
Needless to say i am still after the paint

RS Motorbike Paint any good ? I've had good service from them.

Aye simmo,
Use this URL: NH132M (http://www.bike-paint.co.uk/honda%202001.htm)
Scroll down the list until you reach the listing for the 2001 - GL1500C. You will see as the last entry in the listing for this motorcycle, that the secondary colour "Max Silver Metallic" is the same code as that you have given. You can access the prices and mail order from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
I have no experience or dealing with this company, so don't know if they are trading or if their prices are reasonable. This is their contact address copied from the website:

All the best and I hope this helps you in your search for paint.
My regards, Bill.

Looks like i'm in like Flynn!! Thanks loads
I think i may have bought off them last year. How much paint do i need to spray all but the tank on an xbr? i.e. side panels, rear panel, seat cowling, grab handle and mudguard?
Cheers

Aye simmo,
Hope the application goes well and you achieve the finish you would like. Sorry my lead didn't work out! Bit of a scunner.

Someone might ::) but pre-painted up :-\ at pre-painted up price to make a 'special' from.
Missed a silver one at Malvern a few weeks ago, but wouldn't want to pay a premium price for a premium finish bike to start messing with. Having said that, I appreciate, real 'appreciation' is in adding value ;)

I buy xbr's as a hobby and get a mate to do any spray work. I got a silver tank in good nick and will be getting the rest sprayed to match with the paint i located eventually. It is a 1987 bike when, to the perfectionist, the silver was only on the 1988 bikes- if people are that bothered- don't buy it!!
I spend hours and hours on them and i am addicted to the use of copper grease. I know whoever gets them will get a good bike having been over with a fine toothcomb and ready to jump on. If i make £100-£150 great- if not - so what. Probably about a £1 an hour!!
I'll stick it on the forum before i evil bay it
Cheers and Happy Christmas :)
