Ian

If there was ever a gauntlet thrown to get my tracker finished that was it Ian 😁👍.... I WILL have that bike ready for show time.. cheers, Michael
-
Gareth (Silverfox) duly contacted.
Awaiting a reply now.
-
Hi guys, I didn't receive the email, but have PM'd you Ian with my contact details for future emails. Me and GC were chatting about the Stafford show recently and would be well up for it. I only have a ratty xbr to show but would be happy to provide refreshments as normal if that's ok with you guys.

A rhetorical question if ever there was one!!!
Welcome back Gareth😀
-
Evening Gareth... when you say "refreshments" does that include the EPIC bacon sarni's 🥓🥓🥓😁👍👍
Cheers, Michael
-
We will be taking orders!
-
Hi all,
I have just emailed Mortons to ask for a stand at the Stafford show in October, i will let you know what they say when they come back to me.
Gareth
-
Evening Gareth... great news, the stand was sadly missed last year. I look forward to you hopefully posting the good news soon that you've been successful in your request. The street tracker project bike is steadily moving forward so I should hopefully have it looking the part by October if you'd like it on the stand??
Cheers, Michael
-
im currently trying to persuade the katana club to also take a stand at the stafford show in october.
-
This is all looking rather positive....totally unusual
😀😀😀😀
-
With you on that one Ian!
The only news is that Mortons have acknowledged my mail, hopefully i should know more soon!
G
-
My fingers are firmly crossed chaps, 🤞🤞just in the process of having an ally hub cnc'd up for the "tracker" front wheel.... I will av it ready 🤘🔩🔧
Cheers, Michael
-
I am really looking forward to seeing your latest creation Michael :)
-
Right then, the show invite has arrived so who wants to show a bike on the stand?
Please message me the bike details and I'll add them to the form.
Gareth
-
Morning Gareth, count me in please. Bike not quite ready but I'm determined to get it done to a decent showing level by October
Cheers, Michael
-
Count me in Gareth. Itll probably just be the Dommie though.
-
Thanks Mike and Tim,
Looking forward to seeing your latest creation.
Gareth
-
So am I Gareth.... it's been a long time in the building, first hold up was the bloke who let me down big time with the CNC'd yokes (that never turned up 😡😡) then my accident followed on from that. Three years later it shud hopefully come to fruition 🤞🤞🤘
Cheers, Michael
-
Gareth, have replied to all your emails
I'm hoping to exhibit the latest SRX (for a change!)
Ian R
-
Morning Ian.... is it the red srx with the speed blocks down the rank that you'll be bringing down??... if so looking forward to seeing it. Cheers, Michael
-
Please could all who will be showing a bike provide the details, make, model, cc, age......will be enough, just so i can complete the form. John, if your undecided a couple of options would be ok.
Gareth
-
Honda NX650 Dominator, 1988, KKZ4862

Thanks Tim
-
I have sent off the Stafford application form as it didn't require at this stage bike details, i have requested a stand for 7 bikes with room for an 8th? and in a similar location to previous years, on the balcony in the main hall, that seems to have been a popular choice.
Gareth
-

Hi,
I can offer my APRILIA MOTO 6.5 which I brought along a few years back. Just getting it back on the road and have since managed to get hold of some of the genuine panniers and a screen. It would be an incentive for me to smarten it up a bit. :-)
mic
-
Hi Mic,
Good to hear from you again, it would be great to have the Aprila on the stand, it certainly attracted a lot of interest when you last showed it.
I'll add ti to the list.
Thanks

-
Brilliant news.... tracker project is making "slowish" progress. Progress non the less tho. Still confident I'll get it ready for the show tho Gareth 👍👍... cheers, Michael
-
Hope to make it again this year albeit on 4 wheels.
-
Hi Gareth
After a long absence I'm now back in the Thumper fold. If it's not too late would you consider putting my bike - a 2008 Yamaha MT-03 660 - on the stand? We've had some great times at Stafford over the years and hopefully I can manage a few more.
Cheers
Boyd
-
Great to here from you Boyd, of course you can join us I just feel you'd be a little underwhelmed with the stand as it won't match up to what you have previously been used to.
Gareth
-
Nice to hear from you Boyd. Was it too hot for you where you were?
See you at Stafford
Ian 😊
-
Evening chaps.... unfortunately due once again to being let down by someone not delivering the goods, oh and the fact I've just bought a new house it's not looking likely that my tracker will be ready for the Stafford show. I'm pretty disappointed as I was genuinely looking forward to bringing it down and popping it on the TC stand. My apologies to Gareth and Graham if this has in anyway caused you guys some grief regarding the organisation side of things.... cheers, Michael
-
Hi Gareth,
If there's still room on the stand, I'd be happy to bring my SilverStar along, or maybe a 'special' MT350, if everything goes to plan. ;)
Pete

The show tickets are waiting to be collected from PO, so will PM you for addresses to send them to.
Gareth
-
Thanks Gareth for superb service once again!
Best Regards
Ian (& SRX)
-
You're welcome, look forward to catching up at the show.
Gareth
-
Less than 2 weeks to go effectively. Hoping to see friends, old and new. I also wanted to say to anyone who has never been and those who are "regulars" please stop by and introduce yourselves. Not everyone will be recognizable by their nicknames on here.
I'm sure there will be plenty of talk about bikes and boll ox by a lot of people.
Looking forward to "our" weekend !!!
Ian
-
Hoping to get down on the bike (hopefully the guzzi v7) still gutted I couldn't/didn't manage to get the tracker sorted to get on the stand.... hopefully catch up with you fellows down there. Cheers, Michael
-
Yep, less than three weeks to go. I totally reiterate Ian's comments about coming over for a chat and introducing yourselves, as many of us won't have met. I take it we will be camping in roughly the same place ;)
-
what time are we all looking at getting there then. anything we need to bring down?
-
Will you have a spare ticket left for the Sunday Gareth? I was thinking of popping over for the day.
Thanks
Trevor
-
Guys,
Re camping i guess the top end of the field as last time if that's ok with everyone. We are aiming to get to showground between 13:00 & 14:00
Will be a basic stand this year, thumper banner and lights for the bikes, hope that's ok with everyone, on the plus side we do have a new coffee machine and i will be doing filled rolls and various nibbles. If you have any requests please let me know.
Look forward to catching up next weekend.
Gareth
-
'Scuse my ignorance but but is everybody arriving on the Friday or the Thursday?
BTW, it will deffo be my MZ Silver Star I'm bringing.
Cheers,
Pete
-
Pete,
If you arrive on Thursday I feel you will be pretty lonely. We normally gather together Friday afternoon "up on the balcony". See you there...looking forward to meeting you.
Ian
-
Thanks Ian, I'll be there!
-
Pete,
Me and GC are aiming to arrive between 2 and 3 on Friday afternoon. For info there are toilets blocks on the field and the showers are in the main block and open early on Sat and Sun.
My mob is 07773424331 and Grahams is 07866525054. stand no is B111 on the balcony in the main hall.
Gareth
-
Great, thanks for the update Gareth. I'll aim to get there about the same time then. I'll be riding the bike to the event so will have to quickly unload and stick the tent up before getting the bike onto the stand.
Pete.
-
Hope to see you all there on Saturday and I will reveal my new acquisition--tis a thumper that's all I am saying.
-
Hi,
The Aprilia is back on the road and looking almost respectable, panniers fitted and ready to roll on Friday. I will aim to arrive around 2 or 3 and give you a quick call to establish camping spot etc. I am riding to the show so will have to unload before taking to the stand.
Looking forward to the weekend and meeting up.
my mob 07951 769868
-
Great, see you on Friday, if were there early we'll save you a pitch.
Gareth
-
in my usual well prepared manner, now that its wednesday night, i plan to amble down to the shed, drag all the bikes out to get at the c15 lurking at the back, and put the battery on charge so i can give it a damn good kicking into life later on........
oh, 07814303322 if anyone needs anything bringing, i will be in the van so should have room.
-
Looking forward to seeing you all. I will be riding there as usual. I too aim to get there between 2 & 3.
Ian
-
Looks like we may be a bit later as GC has to do a few hours work in the morning! We are on the balcony in same location as a couple of years ago stand no B111
-
im working anyhow so will be there early evening.
-
I will probably not get there till later either as I have to stay in and wait for a parcel My Herpes were supposed to deliver to me yesterday. I staid in all day yesterday too. Grrrrrr >:(
-
I too shall be late. Weather looks horrendous! And in fact it is already, here in a very wet and windy Bridgnorth :-\
Rather than going stir crazy on site I plan to go into Stafford on the evenings for a trawl around the current selection of GBG 2019 listed pubs, including an interesting micro pub, and a converted 1914 cinema ;)
-
Just got back from the Stafford show, great to catch up with some of the thumper club members. I hope to be there with the BLOODY tracker project bike next year🤣🤣🤣.... oh and big thanks to Gareth for the "tickets" both myself and my 11 year old lad Joseph had a great time... cheers, Michael
-
Got home safely about 5:40pm after a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Great company, new friends and old met, plenty to eat, lots of shiny and not so shiny bikes to look at and admire. What more could you ask for? Thanks to each and everyone who contributed.
Ian 😊😊
-
had a good run back, getting home at about 7pm, great weekend. thanks to everyone for going down and making it a pleasant weekend away. particular thanks to gareth and graham for their efforts in doing all the organisation behind the scenes.
-
Stafford was amazing as usual. I still struggle to take in the size of the whole thing. Weather was horrendous all weekend, and I nearly dipped out of going. How i managed to pitch my tent, and for it to stay up in those conditions still amazes me. Great little explore around some lovely pubs in Stafford on the saturday night, and very tempted by the new RE Interceptor 650 :)
-
I must apologise to everyone for my no show. I've reached a time of life when I'm far more of a wimp than I ever used to be, and the thought of trying to pilot the little 150kg MZ there on Friday in the gale force winds put me right off. I think this is partly due to the fact that I had a couple of near death experiences when I delivered my ETZ150 to a guy in Chester at the end of the last storm in September. I also have to admit that camping in windy and wet conditions does nothing for my arthritis either.
Overall looking back at the weather over the weekend it was probably the right decision for me personally, but I'm sorry to have missed out on the craic, and I do apologise for letting people down and being a party pooper. :-[
-
I completely understand Pete, i ask myself why i do it and i was in a camper van!!
That said it was a cracking weekend, as always the guys were on top form, manning the stand and chatting to everyone. A lot of people commented on the fact that it was nice to see bikes that weren't show standard but had history, (obviously didn't mean yours Ian). Great turn out on the Saturday but less on the Sunday, weather certainly didn't help. I must thank Tim for organising a brill pub crawl around Stafford Town, some great pubs and beer. I must also thank John for his efforts for fear of being on the receiving end of one of his practical jokes, word of warning to all TC'ers, don't cross him, you have been warned!!!! And Mic sorry we weren't there in time to help put up your tent, sounds like it was a bit of an ordeal. Overall another great show, great to meet up with many TC'ers over the weekend and cant wait to organise it again for next year. I suppose i need to thank GC for his efforts after all there wouldn't have been a if it wasn't for him.
Once again thanks to all who helped over the weekend and those who popped onto the stand for a chat.
Cheers
Gareth

was thinking about a theme for 2019, and thought that as its the fad lets go the opposite way to all the other stands. 'Barn Finds' lets get the bikes on thee stand, cover them in dust and straw and add a few agricultural implements, half cover a couple with an old tarp, spread straw on the ground, and hang a few old petrol cans and ddt boxes round there. then we all dress in tatty dungarees, black out a few teeth, corn cob pipes, straw hats and cob cornish accents. finally we hang utterly ridiculous telephone number price tags on the bikes, as befits the status of a barn find. it will be the polar opposite of the vjmcc, it will thumb our noses at the traders and their comedy price tags, it might wind up the organisers, but i bet it will appeal to the sense of humour of all those we saw wandering the stands of the autojumble, lifting the tiny cardboard price tags on the bikes there, raising their eyebrows before wandering away shaking their heads.
-
What a spiffingly good idea John. All the details are there for the asking.
We expect nothing less from you ;D
-
:D Excellent John. That sounds a cracking idea! And not that hard to achieve I reckon. Book in the matt black rough and ready Vespa Ive just bought locally as a runabout. I promise I wont wash it between now and then ;)
The VJMCC and similar stands had some amazing bikes on their stands, but I just dont see the point of all that expense and effort for something that you cant really use, as its so concourse, IMHO. Ians SRX was gorgeous, but still a usable bike.
It was a shame Crazy Frog didnt make it, but I agree you made the right decision Pete. conditions were horrendous, and I nearly didnt go either ;)
-
Huge thanks from me and Nick too. It was his first time at Stafford and he was really surprised at how big a show it is. Great to catch up with you all, and thanks to Gareth for the tickets and the food. See you next year if not before.
Hoping for a better 2019.
Trevor
