Just too MUCH?
« on: December 10, 2023, 12:08:12 AM »
I just get the feeling that this would be OTT for my pay grade and the electrinics and servicing/repairs would be a "hair puller"! That's not to say that the old ones aren't hair pullers for another lot of reasons! ;)

Ducati-Hypermotard-698-Mono

Could it be the start of a new racing class? (Supermono!)  ;) ;D

Good health, Bill

Maybe and I quote from "Oldbiker" on another forum:-
Quote
When they changed the motorcycles for Transformers of difficult qualification designed by computer and not with the heart, we lost the essence that always defined us.
When you hear comments like it doesn't have ABS, has a drum behind, has no mapping or traction control, you realize that you don't know if they are looking for a motorcycle or an X-box remote.
The ABS is a help, in other occasions a toston, the drum brakes behind, in many cases are much more effective than the disc, mapping and traction controls are the antithesis of emotion.
It's hard to have fun today riding a motorcycle with so many limitations, radars, restrictions and regulations, but there are still some manufacturers who revive those neoclassics that can make you feel some emotion.
Many times, you see parked motorcycles that you struggle to know if you are looking at them in front or behind, some you do not know if they have a passenger seat or a pigeon, the lights resemble spaceships and on the handlebar there are more buttons than the play station remote.
Plastics and rare materials, impossible to repair or paint, electronics and mechanics that even the workshops don't know how to handle, in short, pay, pay and pay.
Why today there are no mechanics, they change parts that through a screen are replacing parts, many times without getting it right.
Oil, gasoline and shit is the only thing a motorcycle needs to make you enjoy, in any case some bulb to change....
Good health, Bill

Excellently put. I couldn’t agree more, especially with the line about “emotion” he really hits the nail on the head in that bit alone. 👍
