Really must get out & start building that tzr/srx mono for the coming season (6 weeks?), as well as building my son's srx400 track bike, as well as helping my mate & co-rider Simon, prepare his Rotax, as well as etc. etc. etc........

Have just picked up a good srx620 motor from Ashley Norrington so should have no excuses on that front? Just got to put the whole package together!

See photo's!!!!!!!!!!

Update.....

We now have a rolling chassis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frame--TZR250 Alloy (deltabox) modified to take SRX engine

Swingarm--TZR250

Yolkes--TZR250

Forks--TZR250 (but they do seem a bit shorter by about 4cm?) with progressive springs & re-worked valves etc. by Maxton. Also have been altered by Maxton to have quick release caliper (endurance style?)

Rear mono shock--A hagon (almost new(100 miles only) shock)

Rear brake--Std. TZR 2 piston item

Front brakes--Single std. TZR 4 piston caliper gripping a single large dia. TZR disc
Braded lines on both

Wheels-- are from a FZR400 (17x3.5 front & 17x4.5 rear) so easier to find tyres

Tyres-- to start with, I have a pair of Dunlop KR364's (that came with the bike, so they may be a bit old?, but we'll see how they go!

Will update as work progresses (hopefully quickly???)

Well that looks so much easier than trying to get a Rotax lump in one.

What have you done about the cradle - made one up or ignoring it?

Does the carb poke out into the bottom of the petrol tank?

My co-pilot, Simon, has a rotax in his tzr (reverse cyl) frame. Looks like a good fit!. Will post some photos of that soon!

I have a cradle? that fits on the front (not all way round), as you'll see in a later photo!

The tank has already been adapted to suit (by a previous owner!), so hopefully, no problems with the enourmously long carbs (Amals).

Again, will post photos as work progresses.

Have now got engine fitted (decided to go with the XT640 at last minute) (ignore the 95x84 as it's 98.5x84 - I think?)

Header pipes fitted

Carbs (amals) fitted

Oil lines & tank fitted (have decided to run without cooler?)

Electrics all fitted (we'll see?, fitted by a blind man in the dark & with frozen fingers!)

Should be some photos on site soon?

Must get out there now & get it finished so I can have a practice before Snett.

 :D   Update !

Nearly there -  Home made exhaust system fitted, everything in place (I think?), we've just put some petrol pipes on with double filter (as there's a lot of rust in the bottom of the cleaned out tank, seems petrol tight though?), quick spray paint of the tank (outside in the wind). In fact, almost together now except for the fairing etc.
Put some fuel & oil in, quick visual check & outside to the waiting rollers. Put into second gear, pull backwards until TDC & set on rollers. Young John in his rover starts up & sets rollers in motion, let the back wheel of the racebike get up to speed, put weight on the seat & dump clutch quickly but smoothly-------------BANG BANG BANG, she starts up first time & sounds good (LOUD!), find neutral, & let warm up for a min., checking for leaks (NONE), took it round the square to make sure brakes clutch etc. work ok, upset a few more neighbors?
