Retro fitting a kickstart?
« on: February 02, 2011, 07:47:38 AM »
So on my dr650 it's got 'kickstart' stamped on the engine but the hole it would've fitted through is plugged. Anyone reckon it'd be possible to fit a kick-starter?

depends whether the crankcases need machining to take the shaft and whether the non kickstart model is compatable with the parts from the kickstart model. i recall fitting a new kickstart shaft to my gn400 motor and it required me to split the crankcases to remove the old shaft.
