Aye Steve,

Don't know about specific to DR, but Metzeler Tourance Radials on the F650 were very good with tubes. Make sure you use 'quality' tubes not 'fag paper' Taiwanese or Thai jobs!! Had one blow out after 100 miles, not clever. 11K from the rear and the front still plenty left. Good grip wet or dry.

Cheers, Bill

I'm a big fan of the avon distanzia's for road bias use. Front and rear cost under £100 delivered from M & P and I get nie on 9K from a rear (X2 + for the front)

Great on roads, even wintery slime, and OK on green lanes as long as they're gravel/dry mud not grass/wet mud.

Aye, I'd go with distanzias.  They were on the DR when I got it, and are really confidence-inspiring.  Or maybe thats just the bike.

Anyways.  I'd recommend.

SteveD very kindly gave me a pair of only very slightly used Michelin (? I think!) Anakee's.   A terrible name I know, but come "change-time" I'll let you know what I reckon.  Not to look a gift-horse in the mouth you understand!  A most acceptible contribution to the garage, cheers mate!

OK, time to dredge up this old thread... If there is still anyone out there?!   ;D  Who would have thought this was 7+ years ago!!!

OK, the Skorpion got an MOT today (piccies soon, it is wonderfully stupid).

Meaning I want to get the DR ready...   ???  You know how these things go.  One bike in constant use, while the other gets much-needed TLC.

Front tyre needed for the DR, then an MOT next month.  I may got for Distnazias again if they are still available.  But is there a more road-based tyre available that anyone would recommend??  Do you get non-nobbly rubber for a 21 inch wheel??

(Maybe I need some supermoto rims on it...!!   ;)  No, now thats just a daft idea!)

Cheers,

andy

Hello older youf!  :P

Advice now would be the same, Metzeler Tourance!

Glad to read you are making progress.

Regards, Bill.

Went for the same old same old and bought another Distanzia.  Easiest, reasonable price (  still  :o  ) and matches the rear.  (I know I know, I shoudl replace the pair, but there's probably another year on the back tyre)

Cheers

Replace as a pair?  :o

That may be fine if you are racing or on a road rocket, mortals replace as and when. If you like 'em mate, wear 'em!

Good health, Bill.
