Brude Pollard Rally, Not the Dragon!
« on: January 03, 2019, 08:21:22 PM »
Hi and a Happy new year to all.

As the title reads, this year the Bruce Pollard Rally will be held on the Friday 8th Feb at the Giler Arms Nr Betws-y-Coed. I know that some fellow bikers will be attending and some will do the Friday evening and then go over to the Dragon for the Saturday evening.
There has in the previous years been an alternative meet for the Dragon, the Yorkshire Pig treffen, but this is not happening this year, I will not go in to details as to why some do not wish to go to the Dragon!
I have been in touch with a site in North Wales nr Conwy which I will be going to for the Saturday evening.
This place has ample camping, hard standing for bikes, has 10 available bunkhouse spaces, we can have braziers outside under cover, outside toilets and showers etc. There are plenty of shops and pubs very locally with takeaways!
I have a good relationship with this place as I have regularly used it for bike rallies.
I will be going to the bruce Pollard Rally on the Friday evening as I knew him very well. Bruce died of Moto neurone disease and the rally is in his commemoration and to rise funds for the the charity. (£10 and you get a badge!)
I will then decamp to this place and get some fires going for the Saturday evening, where if my tent is still dry I will camp or bunkhouse or just sleep underneath one of the rather large hay barns.
I have interest from some colleagues from the Thumper club and now ask if anyone else is interested to get this proposal underway, especially if anyone wants to have a bunk.

Obviously names and numbers ASAP

Cheers Steve
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

Hi Steve thanks for your efforts in organising this and posting all the info. However much to my dismay, having checked dates I cant fecking be there!! I have already booked tickets for Ozzy Osbourne & Judas Priest at the NEC Birmingham the same weekend, shit why do so many good things clash?  The VIP Ozzy tickets cost a Prince of Darkness sum so money, so I am fecking committed to going to the NEC,  so much to my chagrin I wont make it to the Bruce Pollard Rally this year. I am just at this moment in time going to pour a drink or two to drown my sorrows. Rant fecking Rant facking Rant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will be at the Bruce Pollard on the Friday but intended to head on to the Dragon on Saturday, despite it being a bit of a rip off (have ticket).  Will probably be on the K1 outfit as not sure I trust the Dnepr enough yet.

A wise move I reckon Steve. I have no definite plans as yet, but may attend on the Vespa. Not sure though, as I'm off to Australia early on the Monday morning!

Ozzy Osbourne has now postponed his UK shows til September. However, I now have to go to Cardiff on Sunday for a third operation on my left foot on Monday 11th, so despite The Prince of Darkness postponing I still cannot make it. Hope you all have a great weekend at The Bruce Pollard and the Dragon. Cheerz Cliff (Brad now only one XT)  :( :( :( :( :(

Doesn't look like I will get to the Bruce Pollard now but should be at the Dragon.  Look out for a bright red BMW K bitsa with a Saluki sidecar.

Hi Steve, won't be able to offer you a meal before your ferry this year, we're over in NZ with the Quota, down at Invercargill for the Burt Munro meet.
Lovely weather.
Dave.
ps. met the only other black Quota owner today by chance...now there are two in NZ.
