HI All
Cannot make the rally - but I am guessing from a couple of the comments above that Pete's Eats is a new experiance?  If it is not please ignore, if it is well you should be in for a treat.  Pete's Eats is a mecca of North Wales climbing.  When we were benighted in Lllanberis pass the weekend before christmas she who is now my wife and I spent the night alternating between freezing and discussing what we were going to have to eat in Pete's - as it was we headed for the Snowdon Cafe instead - it was on the way home to some sleep and warmth.  Pete's produces some of the finest 'fighting' food going, pints of wonderful tea, chip butties including what must be a pound or two of freshly cooked chrispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle chips etc.  SO make sure you not only use the bunkhouse but sample the offerings of the cafe, despite it being full of walkers and gods of vertical dance. Yep, Llanberis will be a first time for me, I haven't visited the town since a school trip in the 70s.

I haven't got anything against the usual Friday night in Betws before the Dragon, but I'm always game to try new things. The lesson is: all the good things you do were new to you once.

My rough plan is to head for Rhayader after work on the Thursday to get pissed with Jethro and Rob. Ride to the Dolwen Garage cafe for breakfast on Friday then head off to Betws for an afternoon perusing camping shops. Ride up to Llanberis and have a convivial sherry with Richard, Steffan, Simon Morgan and others. Up at 8.00 on Saturday, down to the caff for breakfast then off to the rally checkpoint.
