Llanthony Priory on the Beeb
« on: March 11, 2010, 08:54:21 PM »
Did anyone else catch the article about the origins of astronomy on the One Show tonight?

It was filmed at Llanthony Priory, mostly in the early hours of a morning.  Interesting stuff about Copernicus, Gallileo etc.

As an aside, I finally got to watch the start of the new BBC series about the solar system tonight.  I thought the wife might want to watch it as well.  Fat chance - she read a magazine the whole way through.

After it had finished, she had her choice of what to watch, so we're currently enjoying an episode of Tom and Jerry  :o  Well, she is - I'm catching up on the Thumper Club forum  ;)

Talk about different tastes!

I didn't see it but that's the second time in a couple of week that Llanthony has been on the BBC,
here in Wales we have a program called Weatherman walking,a local weather presenter does walks all around Wales,he was at Llanthony talking to the farm owner there "Colin"(this is the guy that collects the money if you camp in his field) it showed the Priory, pony trekking and the surrounding area.
If you have been to Llanthony its worth watching, its on BBC Wales iplayer.
