XBR OIL FILTER
« on: May 23, 2012, 11:23:06 PM »
Have just chanced the oil filter, straight forward, but on putting the cover back on it can go on in three differant positions!!!!! The exploded engine view doesn't give any clues neither does the section on changing the filter. So which way does it go on 1 in 3 chance to get it the right way!!!

Look around the edge of the cover between the 3 'lobes' and you'll find a tiny raised 'pip'. look on the crankcase where the cover goes and at approx 9 o' clock as you look straight at it you'll find another pip - line these up an thats the correct position. Make sure you get it right or the oil feed won't line up.

Thanks for that Steve. I never noticed the line up indicators on the cover but I did assume the correct position without that information!
