ready for snetterton??
« on: May 04, 2007, 09:13:42 AM »
A after few days intensive fettle!

Wheel alignment
sorting out the mashed can
Staightening fairing brackets
Getting vinyls cut
Re-torque head (after a couple of test days following new valve)- only 1 bolt took a little
Valve clearences
All chassis bolts
Front sprocket
Got footrest bracket welded, and new ones coming from Alan stringer- ta!!
Oil and filter
Lockwire
Jet up the carbs- 125s in testing, ran nice but plug looked a bit lean, so have tried 130s (open carbs).  At midnight last night, I wrecked the slipstream-modified rubber-bonded inlet tract.  Gaaaah!  So boshed on an old stock one- not ideal, but it won't be the reason I'm last!

Jeezuz!  Looking at it, its a short list, how did it take 3 days?!?!?!  Duff mechanic I reckon!

Still to do-

Re-mount the CDI unit, fibreglass up the fairing, and make good for race. Lick of paint, and paint some black number boards.  Stick on logos.  And Race!

Wish me luck!

Aye Andy,

Good luck and make sure you've got the thermals on! My local reporters in Felixstowe talk of raw E winds, overcast skys and potential 'dampness'. BU55ER!

I will try a little something with the mat.

All the best, Bill
