Do we know why the Suzuki Hayabusa is called the Hayabusa?

Previously the Honda Blackbird was the fastest production bike you could buy so when Suzuki announced their new, faster, bike they named it after a Japanese Falcon that eats Blackbirds! (or so the story goes).

No I never took an angle grinder to it Michael, but I have to say I felt like it a few times 🤣

I'd have stopped after the angle grinder and hammer Michael 🤣. I wasn't exactly a big fan of my FT500. It didn't want to go round corners, had the worse finish of just about any bike I've ever owned and didn't have the power to pull the skin off a rice pud...
Ah ya see, that’s the secret. Angle grinder, swiftly followed by a big hammer then lots n lots of welding, polishing and painting. One eventually ends up with something as cool n dandy as the ascot 😉👍

A Honda with the worst finish you've ever had? Surely not...

I kid you not. I'm sure that they missed out sending it to be primered as every time you looked at it, some paint just flaked off...
