Its a reverse pattern Wankle, it seems to solve a lot of the problems traditional Wankles have, like moving the seals from the piston to the casing and having a smaller combustion chamber volume. I seems like a good idea

I never cease to be amazed by the creativity of some people. The Norton Owners Club magazine has a series in which a weird engine is examined each month. Some are pretty straightforward but I struggle to get my head round some of the others.

Re the Wankel I always fancied a Norton rotary but never quite managed to have the money / space in the garage / time to get one. Too big and heavy now I fear. Or maybe an Interpol-powered sidecar outfit.......
