Finished (small) thumper
« on: June 08, 2022, 08:44:56 AM »
Hi all

Its been 10 years since I was on the forum when I had my SR400. I never got that to run well so sold it to another member. Time has moved on and my pockets a little deeper so purchased a RE Meteor 350. No exactly really thumpy but good enough for me.

However It was stock and wanted to Umph it up a little. I took out my trust hacksaw and spanners and took it apart. Then welded it back again.

I'm not sure its in the spirit of this group but now following the exhaust mod sure does thump. I like to keep the revs low to accentuate the glorious notes.

Any way thought I would share a photo.  https://photos.app.goo.gl/7Q5MJT246MQcZNhj8

Sorry not sure how to upload photos so its a link.

Hi Tim. Looks very chunky - not quite my style but well executed.

Hi Tim, welcome back. It’s got two wheels and an engine, so as far as I’m personally concerned it definitely fits in on the forum 👍. Looks cool, probably sounds cool too👍
Cheers, Michael

I like that chunky look! I take it that's  a hugger on the rear?

The rear tyre is as fat as I could fit in the rear forks.

The bike was matt black to start with so apart from removing stickers of the side panels I did nothing with it.

I was thinking that I would use some vinyl wrap to give it a bit of colour. a bit like in the photo. However I cannot at this time come up with the right lines to make it work. I have the vinyl still..

Definitely  add that little bit of colour to break up the black, imo 8)

Morning Tim, you could always put a red strip down the length of it. You’d be like the A team then 😉😉
Of course I am joking 😁
