i should put this in rants, but my absolute pet hate (at the moment :-) ) is the atrocious spellin an gramaticul errors i see every day on social media, and i'm not just referring the great unwashed (me included) but professional commentators , drives me potty.

As for sewage media, choose sparingly and be sceptic about all postings. There is nothing "professional" on sewage media, all are tarred with the same brush.

Snow?  Whasat??? A 10 minute shower of soft hail yesterday that was melting on impact. Tonight would appear to be a bit more resolute, but is still soft hail and only started at about 21:00 and we expect to be back in rain by the morning. Up on the Munro's and further north has been a bit different, but the estates have been heather burning in ideal conditions for at least 3 weeks now. Down to -11°C at night and then up to 5°C during the day, with a gentle, dry wind from the north, hoovering moisture from everything and dessicating the vegetation.

Rugby this afternoon was ........ for the home teams and I have no sympathies for the RFU. I think the Scotland v Ireland game could be a cracker and whilst I would like a Scottish win, I think the Irish will be up to the job. Murrayfield is forecast to be dry, sunny and 10°C after overnight snow, so footing could be key. Get the big studs in boys!

Oh! Better split some more logs in the polytunnel, as it looks to remain cold.

well Bill, i think scotland faired quite well against a top of their game ireland, as for england.... they took a water pistol against a team with 15 bren guns !! what a fiasco!

A good match to watch, but the accuracy, patience and stuffing had been knocked out of Scotland by half time. As for the England v France game; the French were just at the top of their game and England are still trying to play rugby using Eddy's "automatons" method of playing. That game against Italy where they didn't know what to do at an uncontested line out and were asking the ref's advice, was VERY telling. Not only do you need to be BIG, but athletic and prepared to fill almost any role on the field, whilst thinking on your feet.

Ireland's three prop front row worked well, whilst their #4 was as good as any flanker, centre or big wing. And, why not have a flanker throw in to the line out?

Organised chaos and an ability to think on the hoof by all members of the team always worked well.

Next weekend should be a cracker in Dublin, whilst the Italians could give Scotland a bloody nose and I suspect Wales will look very secondhand against a rampant French des voyous (group of thugs!).

Bill, are you sure you're not a secret rugby coach?, or maybe rugby's answer to gary lineker (no, lets don't go there) .
one bit of consistency over the last decade is the continual improvement of the Italian side, every tournament sees a better game from them, now a force to be reckoned with, which is a huge benefit to series such as 6 nations. if England played against Italy in the same fashion as they did against the French  then we'd be in for another pasting.
back to the job in hand, my new acquisition (SRX #10!) is coming along nicely, i fixed all the problems the previous owner had mentioned,, and a few more, put the reg plate from #1 on it and had a tootle, engine is like a sewing machine, brakes a bit wooden, front forks like a pogo stick. so now it's the strip down, clean, wheels powder coating, fit new clipons, new rearsets, repaint (which i shall get done professionally). new tyres (hey, this little beastie has a single disk 17" front wheel, nearly caught me out. and the wheels are the later trispoke) seat reupholstered, forks resealed and oiled. and hopefully she'll be the keeper and i will wave goodbye to old #1

Well-done folks! How refreshing to see an online bike forum where a polarising issue (climate change, Brexit, Scottish Independence, asylum) comes up, but then DOESNT end up in threats, flouncing off, or the use of the phrase ‘keyboard warrior’.

Maybe a dansak could smooth the solving of more of the worlds problems?  What a brilliant group.
