Multi pin terminals
« on: July 27, 2024, 11:53:47 AM »
I always have difficulty with some of these. Perhaps I'm just not strong enough but pushing the cip down while pulling the thing apart sometimes almost defeats me. Of course most of my bikes have had the old Lucas type bullets which are relatively simple beasts.

So I did a little search and came up with this. Just ordered it so don't know whether it will work but I'm hopeful.

Now that looks like a tool I can't live without now I know it exists. I, like you Ian, have wrestled with these nasty little beasties on many an occasion and have broken the little retainers trying to use a variety of ever increasingly violent methods on several more occasions.

This arrived this morning so I rushed out to the garage to try it. I have to report that, although not perfect - finish a bit rough - it did the job with no problems. I can recommend this tool. Obviously not something you need every day but invaluable when you do.
