Well, the little Yam is off to a deserving new owner this afternoon. I didn't get any actual bids despite having 60 watchers(!) but agreed on £1500 to a chap buying it for his son - apparently it's A2 compliant whatever that means.
So always on the lookout for a project I've bought this - a 1948 BSA C11 250 single. Paid the same £1500. It'll be a nice little project to while away the hours.

Well played Ian, hope you get the BSA sorted to your satisfaction. I'm sure you will as you seem to do a thorough and well finished job👌🏍?

Lovely, simple, relaxing thumper you've got there Ian. A friend of mine had a C12 and I loved borrowing it, such fun to potter along on. Enjoy your new project.

The little BSA arrived yesterday afternoon after a somewhat tortuous route via central London for some reason. It's looking good - clearly plenty to do but I'm in no hurry. I look forward to exploring its foibles although it is a very straightforward machine and shouldn't present too many difficulties. I think I'll leave the cosmetics alone for the time being but do a full strip on the engine and garbox as I have no history. It does turn over on the kickstart and seems to have compression which is a good sign.
