Hiya,
just scraped through getting a ticket before they sold out - and have finally got official confirmation that I know won't have to work on the Saturday So am riding up from Newport South Wales on the saturday morning to pop my dragon cherry!

Is anyone here riding up from South Wales / Bristol (etc) area on the Saturday?

I know a bloke who is riding up on the Saturday from Cardiff, I'll chat to him to see if he wants company.

Hi all,

Its official, I have opted to leave the DT400 or my XT500 at home and do this years Dragon on a 20 year old Honda C90, a four stroke single so technically a thumper :P, the old girl is a bit tired looking but passed the MOT yesterday.

A few hours to give her a bit of a clean up, fit the rack I bought on ebay and the handlebar muffs, load her up with all my kit and she is ready for the off on the Friday of the Dragon.

I am riding up from Pembrokeshire via Llandovery to meet my mate.  He is on his newly acquired for the Dragon CB250RS (which he will be selling after for about £600) and my other mate on his 36 year old Suzuki B120.  We are going to be like a trio of second rate Clarkson and Co ala Vietnam.

Anyone else fancy tagging along, we plan to leave the West End Cafe in Llandovery at about 10.30 on the Friday, speeds wont be breathtaking, I anticipate a 40-45mph cruising speed.  Compulsory Tea stops on route will also be order of the trip, aim to get to Bettws (Glan Aber) about 3ish. PM if anyone interested.

Look forward to meeting forum guys at the Dragon and sharing a beer.

See you soon

Much respect Will.

I look to be in Bettws the same time. See you in the Glan Aber for a port and lemon.

I assume you will be the one in the handmade purple crushed velvert suit.  ;)

Maybe i'll bring along an enormous wooden cutty sark boat for you to strap on the back!

If any of the three in my area are up for some company on the ride up give me shout!

Think was allready mentioned - dont wanna end up the wrong side of the river for the checkpoint!
my sat nav consists of an adress label with my route scribbled on it and stuck to the tank  ::)

Just a quick note to say that we now have TWO spare places for the accommodation at Petes' Eats for the Friday evening. Tricky and his mate have had to pull out for very understandable reasons.
If wanted I could get the tickets. :o

Bump
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

Just a thought, why not bring along something snacky to share around on the Saturday night?

examples:
Salami
Beef jerky
Nibbles
Pork Pies
Pickled eggs
Cheese
Chilli vodka (not sure about that one)

If we all bring something along then we can have a veritable feast (and possibly indigestion).

Anyone up for wearing silly hats? If so then the sillier the better and I'll bring a prize along for dopiest headgear.
