turned left for Hay on Wye, it was like going up a river for a good few miles,

Mark, not surprised it was like a river, it could well have been one. If I am not mistaken, Hay on Wye is to the right out of the campsite at Llantony.

Well done all participants, a bloody good time was had by all despite the weather. The ghost in the Tower Bedroom turned out to be female and my Exhaust lasted all the way home, frightened a few people and horses mind, must investigate another new tent before the Dragon though, Vango's finest was not up to the job.

Only second rally ever attended. Great weekend was had by all. Look forward to the next one. Shopping list a feckin mile long for all the stuff i want......

Had an epiphany when I got back to the site - camping in general is s**t, and in the winter months even more so. Have vowed to never camp again, summer or winter!

I'll certainly come to TC rallies but will only stay in bunkhouses/hostels/B&B's etc.

Sorry to hear that Boyd, but it was indeed a weekend to test anyone's stamina and patience, between bike problems and bad weather. I think I said to you on Saturday morning that I was considering riding home, getting the van and returning for my kit. As it went we had a great Saturday night and that made up for the drenchings.

Anyway, it was good to see you again and next time can I dry my wet clobber in your B&B room? (and no, that's not a euphemism  )

Manages to get home in torrential rain, bike ran fine but even my feet got cold and wet.
Bonus though van has passed it's MOT.
Thoroughly good weekend and I remained warm and dry for the most of it, plenty of good food and entertainment. I cannot wait for the next one and I intend to get another in before the festivities!.
Perhaps drag big Mark out to test his new gear that's still in the shops!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me. I was certainly impressed with it. Much more dependable than my modern Primus and no problem at all in the wind and rain.

Cracking weekend BTW. Certainly a good test for the new bike. I think it's almost as good as the DR was! Apologies to anyone we bored with our XT chat down in the Three Tenors^H^H^Heneres enclave though!

Very Good weekend despite The Bonnie dying in the wet and drowning The Landy.

Going to get a New Coil and not drive quite so fast in the dark up unlit lanes that are flooded.


Shame to hear Boyd has had enough but I'm sure we will meet again in some Dark,damp field.

Well i had a great if very wet weekend,
hats off to the guys that rode some distance to be there...........bravo,you know who you are,for me it what its all about,you ride your bikes,the company,camaraderie,bad weather or good and a warm bar are all bonuses
what i don't understand is the people who were prepaired to go camping but didn't bother
anyhoo here are a few frames of Friday nights activities,my apologies for some as the camera had  condensation issues.

Pleased you got on ok Steve. I didn't make it saturday for a really poor reason, which is too embarrassing to reveal. Catch you at the Dragon or sooner.

Boyd keep your Dragon ticket, draw breath and think again old fruit. I understand how you feel but there's a long way to go 'til the Dragon.
The weather over the weekend was dire, but not the norm. Wet, even by Welsh standards.

Before you "Epiphany" off too far please ponder these things, the Annual Rally you organised was one of the best, if not the best, organised weekends I have ever attended in 50 years of motorcycle rallying. You camped then and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes there were comments from critical people who having refused at first to organise anything decided at the very last to do something and ended up doing bugger all, not even attending, their comments were nonsense. If they did'nt attend and take part they have no mandate to comment.
I feel that largely you have enjoyed your Thumper Club camping and rallying, this last weekend was something else. As we discussed, we both had leaking tents, a large flaw in enjoying the situation and we solved the problem different ways, there were many times when I wished I could phone Mol and get her to bring the 4*4 so that I could just put this soggy pile of crap aboard and then ride the limping DR home to a warm dry situation but I could not be arsed to go down to the phone box in the rain to do it and admit defeat. Give it some time, you have enjoyed lots of it, don't scrap your Dragon trip yet, you may come round to wanting to "do it all again".
