Hello Steve,

I was planning on heading up to the national trust site at Great Langdale for Friday night, but if Dent is open i'm up for a pint or two!

One possible glitch is that my cousins wife is expecting a baby any day and we've agreed to fetch and babysit their dog while they get sorted. If Claire pops on Friday my plans will be scuppered, so I'll have to remain a possible. There is no safe/legal/non-cruel way to carry a Labrador on an MZ!

You could try the following, although I am not recommending it nor making any suggestion as to its legality. I can see the headline now "RSPC in highspeed motorcycle chase."
Tie its front legs to one engine bar, sling the body over the tank and tie the back legs to the other engine bar - oh and you may want to put a bag over its head to stop is slobbering over the paintwork. Best to make it muslin or something breathable otherwise it'll be DOA.

PS Bullet was brilliant all the way to Llanathony and back and then down the coast and back - only lost one indicator.

Calling Andy M, I expect to be at the pub at beer-o-time on the Friday evening and will be camping it up in Micks field. Breakfast at the farmhouse as usual.

Calling Richard of York,   how about coming over on your outfit, it sounds just the biz now for touring in inclement weather and it's not far for you to come.

Steve, thanks for doing this recce this coming weekend. I know how difficult it must be for you to prop up the bar of the Sun Inn 'til closing time, let alone doing the last hour across the road. I think Mr.Stringer should go along with you to keep you out of mischief.
Tow'd Tup, old chap,

Just got back from Dent after a thoroughly good weekend.
Put some cheap handlebar muffs on the SRX as the DR is not working yet. Also made a bracket for the GPS, so with the harness for the heated jacket already on I was 'Toasty' warm and dry as I used my Goretex jacket instead of the Leather one.
Got to Dent about six-ish in the dry and met up with a couple from Huddersfield MAG! whom I did recognise as I have been to a couple of their meets up here in a local pub. Tent up and down to the pub for an evening meal and lashings of beer. Another couple pitched up later on that evening, (I knew the young woman as she owns an SRX as well!)and a good time was had by all.
Up to Mick and Wendy's farmhouse in the morning (Sat') for brekkie but he had not got provisiions in so a bacon buttie and a mug of tea had to suffice.
Had a nice ride over to Sedburgh for some beer tokens then over to Hawes for lunch then over to Devils bridge and back to the site in mainly rain but very quiet roads and very few bikes out.
More of the MAG group arrived in the late afternoon, some of them I also recognised, small world innit!, to swell their ranks to about 12. We all headed up to the pubs for an evening meal and a right good evening, did I mention loads of beer?
Sat night was a Gale with heavy rain and two of their contingent got very wet overnight, but Wendy let them use her Hanging frame to try and dry their gear out.
Sunday morn we all shoehorned into the Farmhouse kitchen for a full breakfast and lashings of tea. Rain in the morning as I packed up but set off in the dry and got home late afternoon.
A good time was had by all, made some new acquantances.
I have spoken to Wendy and will be booking the site this next week, will keep you all posted.

SteveD

PS I also hope to go back to Dent again before the end of the year.
Anyone else doing any meets in the near future?

If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

Good stuff Steve, sounds like you had a hoot.

I'd love to get away again this year, but I'm guessing that Mrs Onepot's reaction to the suggestion will be frosty.

Cheers
