German trip was great. Weather was excellent with a couple of 30C+ days and some heavy rain, but mostly very good for riding. Excellent turnout of SRXs at the rally, brilliant campsite and stunning ride-out. Thousand miles round trip with topped off with a couple of nights stay in Rotterdam

Fortified Manor House (circa 1310) was campsite reception

Plenty of SRXs

More SRXs

Boyd,
Thanks for the photo's,
looks like there was a good turn out,TBA i wouldn't have expected anything less from a German club(they know how to organise)
in the second picture there is an SRX which is familiar to me

looking at them both now they are not the same, just the paint job,
im very suprised nobody else has commented on your pics or asked about your trip! ::) ???
any chance of a short ride report?,
how did the boxes fair.

Hi Jules
The venue, Tonenburg, was Germanically excellent and well worth a trip if you are ever in the area. We didn't have it all to ourselves and there were several other groups meeting there at the same time. I would say there were over a hundred biker staying there on Friday night with only five of us camping.

I don't want to bore you all with the travel details - torrential rain, blisteringly hot days, wine, women, song, and lady boys etc. etc. But no doubt after a few shandies I'll recant the sordid details to anyone who'll listen!

The boxes worked fine and apart from a bit more dust there are just as I got them. The bike did fall over with them on in a garage forecourt - caused by me steadying myself on the wrong side whilst trying to take my waterproofs off - but luckily it was onto some sand and no damage was done to either bike or boxes. I will certainly keep an eye out for a set, but they never come cheap. And I think they encourage the taking of more stuff than is really necessary but they do allow better storage of Duty Free purchases. When do you want them back by? I will come down to Cardiff via Blackwood so give me the deadline and we can set a date!

Thanks again for the loan. See you soon....

Hi Ian
As it turned out I was lent a pair of Tourtech boxes for the trip so I didn't have to trust to my DIY efforts. But, as I have to return the fancy boxes soon, I will be debuting my rather more......ahem!.......vanacular style boxes at Martyns Birthday Do and, assuming they last that long, thence at the Annual Rally.

Will post the dosh asap!!!!!
