A particularly slow bimble home - took nearly 45 minutes doing it too.  Back lanes almost all the way.

What a splendid weekend was had - thanks to Mark and everybody else who made it possible.  Getting the shelter up, organising the beer and snacks etc.

Excellent pub, ale and food as well.  A special thanks to whoever organised the weather too.

Most impressed by Richard from the Netherlands and the Irish Cont/ingent* for travelling over to enjoy with us.

I just wish we could have fitted in both the run out and the trip to Pembrey - mainly for the Battle of Britain flyover.

Going for a bit of a lie down now, I don't bounce back from hangovers as well as I once did.

Happy Days.

Big thanks to Mark and all of you for a splendid TC event and for making me feel so welcome, I think on balance that clip ons, luggage, 30degree heat and Welsh Tourist traffic might best be described as an interesting combination but it was a great ride home with some cracking clear patches, I even managed to get off the bike unaided... that bloody useless sidestand!. Perhaps next time I might try something a bit more touring, rather than torturing! No it's a great ride on a clear evening, sorry Guzzi!
Thanks again, here's to more beer in the sunshine...before its back to beer in the rain in February!
Safe ride home to you all, particularly the long distance boys.

Sorry to miss it, sounds like a hoot, but two days slogging around the peak district in 30 degree heat with two sons, equipped with map and compass meant I had to forego the festivities this year.

Still managed a few beers mind

Nice one Mark, keep em coming

Arrived at home Monday afternoon after 1.859 GPS KM (about 1.200 miles). Bloody hot ride. The XT marked its territory immediately when it got home, looking at the puddle of oil underneath it.. The engine is still too hot to investigate and I hope it´s just because I rode the last 25 miles a bit too fast. First investigation tells me,  it´s the gear lever seal that was blown out or a copper washer that melted. Just glad it didn´t happen before.  ;D

Many thanks to all, who made this a fabulous weekend. Mark for organizing the place, Gareth, Liz and the entire Welsh crew for the marquis and all the drinks and food in it (including the cooler). Richard for his outstanding tour along the reservoirs. And everybody for their company. Last but not least Hillary and Kate for the great birthday cake with candles. My first in 51 years.  :)

Apologies to Trevor, for not recognizing him immediately. It must have been your white legs, that disturbed me.  :o

As for the cheap hotel in Folkestone, I now know why, but still good enough for a night at this price. Watched grey haired bus people  at the bingo, enjoying a Carlsberg. Actually pretty funny.  Until we meet again, was a song played this night. Quite appropriate.

Got the Chunnel very fast. Acting stupid Dutch, standing in the wrong lane, even got me an earlier train, than I was allowed to.

All together, it was just great.  Thanks again!

My white legs disturb a lot of people.  They don't get out enough!

Good to see you have all got home safe after enjoying the weekend, you always have doubts if you have chosen a suitable location for an event but I think we did ok here and the weather being great just added to the occassion.

Thanks to Gareth for organising the rave tent and welcome pack and to the local boys to help stock it. Richard for leading the scenic rideout and Pete for the Pembrey route as well as behind the scene help.

BOYD WHO!!!!................but I would have swapped him for Ronnie anytime

Richard-NL, I'm glad you enjoyed the bingo on your stop home and aren't you old enough now to get on the grey haired peoples bus?? ;D

Ta, Mark.

Slightly weirdly I was driving a 'work' car through Tregaron today when I saw a scruffy looking bloke and sidecar coming towards me.  Opened the window to wave and ....... bugger me ..... it was Mark.  Back again.

Must like Mid Wales or something.

Yes indeed, a goodly weekend. Big thanks to Mark & Gareth and whatever mumbo jumbo they pulled off to secure the great weather. Brilliant venue and the pub served the meanest lemonade in the World!  ;)

Pembrey races were great too. Love those big ol' singles on full song. Music.

BTW Wifey finished the half marathon in a very respectable time considering the hills they sent her up and the temperature she had to run in. Wasn't her fastest run, but she beat her running buddy for the first time.  ;D

Thanks again to everyone, and apologies to the two Richards for missing their birthdays :-[

Great weekend, good company and ice cold cider. Loved the nice chilled village setting and the local pub was ace, a blast form the past and they don't make em like that anymore.  Thnaks to Mark and all responsible for organising. Also picked up a new Caburg flip front helmet for £30 in the village pub!
Cheers

That's my next t-shirt right there:

'Slightly better than Two Ronnies'

No bike action here at all, as it's way too hot. Have seen an Enfield for sale which I might take a look at when we get back from Oz. Glad it all went well and everyone got back safely. Maybe next time.
