My first project with CB250rs
« on: June 10, 2013, 09:03:26 AM »
Hi guys, been looking for a site for info on these singles! Had loads of modern bike, super bikes and done a little bit of racing in a mini twin class, but not enough funds coming in to carry on with it!
Anyway had enough of fast bikes cos I end up riding like a tw@t all the time!! But loving the look of some cafe racer/brat style bikes popping up on eBay lately!
So thought I'd have a go making my own??
Bought a 1980 cb250rs, it's had shells put in the head so save cam wear, and had something done to have the decompression built in?
Il put some pics up to show what I've done in my shed so far

Then I slipped

Cleaned and painted up the engine ready to go back in

Welded all the frame back up, and cut off any unwanted lugs on the frame,

Cleaned the original wheels using Acid, then rubbed all the spokes down which was a nightmare, them primed and painted and finished with a matt lacquer

Frame all painted in a lovely Brown

And this is how far I've got to date!!

Looks excellent - especially liking the bronze colour scheme and the modified tank. Commuted for two years on one of these and enjoyed every minute of it. Keep us posted!
