I will get in touch with Platts Farm and inform them that so far myself and Rick will want to stay on the Thursday evening before catching the Friday morning ferry.

Dose anyone else need accommodation there?

Steve

Just a bit more info on the wknd. If any of you are staying on for a couple of days this might interest you. On the Sunday, the NACC will be attempting a circuit of Lough Neagh on their mini thumpers, approx 100 miles around the largest lake in the UK, so I will be meeting up with them for a nosey. Then on Monday I am taking the Wirral section to visit a couple of private bike collections in the local area, so obviously you are all welcome as well  :)

Hi guys. After the gathering I am planning to ride the Atlantic Coast Road south on my XT600 Tenere for a few days, before catching the ferry back from Rosslaire to Fishguard later in the week/the following weekend. Not sure if anybody fancies joining me, as it seems a good idea to make the most of me trip to the Emerald Isle.  Cheers. Cliff (BradXT)

I was thinking more like going in car with hazards on, to warn everyone of the crowd of buzzing wasps behind me  ;)
Oz, that is a really good idea for people staying on. Its called the Wild Atlantic Way, and basically follows the whole western coast of Ireland. You could cross to north Antrim, then follow coast anti clockwise the whole way round. Then cut across to ferry from Rosslare. Would make a stonking trip  :)

Hey Tim glad you agree it would be a great trip down the "Wild Atlantic Way" back to Rosslaire and the ferry. Will get the map out and start making some plans for the trip back home from the gathering at Shepherds Rest. Cheers Cliff

Hi Steve. looking at the ferry crossing times from Fishguard and Timbo's comments I reckon it might be a better option going from Hollyhead on the Friday morning. Any idea if there is still space in the bunkhouse at Platts farm for Cliff and myself on the Thursday night?

Hi Steve looks like the Great OZ has sorted me the dubious pleasure of spending the Thursday night in Platt's Farm bunkhouse with you noisy and smelly lot. Ah well can't win 'em all!
Have you sorted out what Ferry Company and time you plan leaving Holyhead for Ireland on the Friday morning, so I can look at booking my ferry ticket? Nice one Steve. Hope you have a good time at the Dragon. The Bard XT. (Cliff)

Hi Brad, I haven't booked yet but I will be using Nutt travel as per last year for the, I think 9 o clock ferry. i know its an early one but if we get up early in the morning it's about an hours ride to the ferry at Holyhead and then we have all day to get to the Shepherds Rest.
I will give Nutt traveol call in the morninmg and find out about crossing times and cost. Watch this place.

Nutt are doing 20% off the Dublin Holyhead ferries at the moment if you book by Tuesday 9th Feb.  Number is 028 7035 1199.  You may need to quote "show offer" as they were promoting this at the NI Motorcycle Festival this weekend.  Stena have a general 20% off offer on but that only applies to Belfast Cairnryan.

Hi Steve,

I won't be with you on the Thursday night as my group is crossing earlier in the week.

See you at the weekend,

Mark
