Peak District gathering
« on: March 22, 2007, 06:56:02 PM »
As you will see from the home page and form there is to be a get together in Wetton on 27 April. A few people have contacted me directly about coming but I would still  like to know numbers (roughly). If you are thinking of coming can you post brief details here. Don't forget to book direct with the pub as its a fairly small site.

Hi Boyd,

I'll be staying the weekend in the adjacent B & B, and so will my XTZ660-riding mate Alan (who claims he has now actually joined the TC).  He's rather looking forward to doing the rideout on a bike that's (allegedly) faster than my 612cc Bullet.

I hope there's no evil cobblestoned fords on the rideout route this year!  If we're going to do the Wetton tunnel (as is customary), I may remove the unbaffled Goldie "silencer" from my bike and replace it with the equally unbaffled megga....

Yep, I'm in, staying at the adjacent B&B. Am I right in thinking that the Stafford Show is on during the same weekend as Wetton? If so, anybody up for a ride over there maybe on the Sunday?

Rode the route of the ride-out today. Approx. 60 miles. Because the WSB was on at Donington there were less biikes about than usual. Also, as the roads I've chosen are 'off-the-beaten-track' there was very little traffic at all. Enjoyed some stunning views of the southern Peak District, and the weather was excellent.

At the moment I am the only person confirmed as camping at the pub. If you are intending to come I would get in touch with them fairly soon. There were half a dozen tents/caravans there today.

Stafford Show might be an option on the Sunday. Its only about 30-40 minutes away. We can sort this out when we get there.

See you all soon.....................

Has anyone else contacted the pub to be greeted by the answer phone and not have your messages returned?
