Gulp, indeed. I've heard some people rewire a bike using a length of multi core trailer cable as the basis. Anyone else hear of/use this method?

Morning half ton, yes I've read up quite a bit on the motogadget m box and associated bits n bobs,  yes it certainly seems to simplify the nightmare of wiring. Every review I've read says pretty much the same thing, they're brilliant. I'm defo going that route on my xbr tracker once I get to the wiring stage, not the cheapest route by any means but fairly "idiot proof" hhmmm ;) ;) ;)
Best of luck with the MT rewire bth2 bth2
Cheers, Michael

A lot of people do seem to use the trailer cable method but I don't like it as the colours are then all wrong.

It's easy enough to get the proper colours, sleeving etc from Vehicle Wiring Products, and most of the special connectors are available from ebay sellers if necessary.

But please don't use those horrible pre-insulated crimp connectors!

Hello Michael,The motogadget M box does look kinda awesome,The only problem I can see is I would end up buying the switches and little speedo as well. Which (like you said) gets a bit pricey ...... But.......you only live once.. ;D ;D ;D

Evening half ton, please don't get me started on the whole "you only live once" argument. It's been an "interesting" 12 months in my head let me tell ya. However apart from that, the motogadget stuff really does seem the absolute business if a tad pricey but hey do it right and you'll only do it the once I say, plus those micro switches look cool eh. Like I say I've read loads of reviews mostly from independent dealers and installers and they all say the same thing...brilliant gear. If you do decide to go the "M" route please keep me/us posted. I'll most likely buy my stuff from digital speedos, dealt with them on a few occasions and Jon, the man behind it all is always more than helpful and knows his stuff. Cheers, Michael

;D ;D ;D I will post with my progress Michael,But it may be a while as I will wait for my son to get his M box and button switches etc as he has started stripping his Dominator and is going that route,He has more dosh than me to chuck at his bike,So when he has sorted his wiring he can help me do mine.. ;D ;D ;D

all complete and doin what it should. had an issue with a dodgy earth at the crap headlight bulb holder which played numerous tricks on me till i found it. i added led idiot lights ,puchased from maplins, which work a treat and can even see them in daylight.
