#5 back home ...
« on: March 27, 2017, 06:05:16 AM »
Pleased to see #1 Son has bought my old #5 SRX6 off Ebay last night, it was always the best looking of the srx's that have passed through my grubby hands, so it'll now get refettled prior to a trip to IOM Classic TT, & possibly Goodwood revival.

he paid £300 more than I got for it 4 years ago, so I guess that means prices are still fairly stable on this marque.

Well done that son! I watched that one from 4 days to go and was going to post about it here, but never got around to it. Nice machine - love this photo of it in which the camera is looking down the silencer.

;D That all sounds rather good Steve. Here's hoping the mechanicals are all OK.

yes Bill, all looks ok, though for some reason the indicators are missing.... nice small led units when it left me,
the silencer is new, looks like a really nice job done with that.
considering it's on standard carbs & jets, and not much work done on the mill, it went very well... a bit better when I had the twin dellorto's on it  ;D , but kept them in my stock of goodies when I sold it last time.
it was (and hopefully , still is), a nice clean sound official uk bike.

Aye Steve,

May I ask if there is any indication of the maker of the 'silencer', or is it a 'one off'?

Snetts should be good!  ;)

Hi Bill, I'm guessing it was a one off, the one on it when I sold it was similar in size, but more ''traditional' silencery design... might have a pic somewhere....
the one on it now has used the original downpipes, and has a neat 2 into 1 adaptor, complete with spring fixings... qwhen we get a closer look we may know more...

pic of #5 as it left us several years ago
also #5 with trusty #1
