Thanks guys.

I'm sure in a month or two I'll be able to look on it as a relief, as she was 90, nearly blind and suffering severely from dementia, so no quality of life at all really. Still a bit of a shock when it happens though, no matter how much you have been expecting it.  :(

So as an excuse to get out of the house at this horrible time of year, a few hardy souls headed up to Shepherds Rest for a night out two saturdays ago. Only one person camped and came on a solo, well done Gerry!
Guzzi Steve came in his K1 outfit, and slept in his sidecar!
The rest of us slept in the bunkhouse, or various campervans.
As usual, Colin, the landlord, looked after us extremely well  :)

Holiday confirmed and ferry booked , will be over on the Thursday from Cairnryan and staying over to catch the Cooktown 100 barring any disasters . Do I have to book a tent pitch with Colin or is it sorted?
See you all there Mark

Only contact Colin at the Shepherds Rest, if you need a pitch with electric hookup. Otherwise, just turn up 😀

Just a wee reminder, that the 2018 Shepherds Rest is 20 to 22 April. You are all very welcome to this small but bijou gathering. Return ferry should be £100 or less with Nutt Travel. The ride out this year may well include a spin up a private road, which none of us have been on before  ;)

Evening all, my birthday (55 this time) is also on the 19th and knowing my good lady wife as I do I'm sure she'll have some "surprise" waiting in the wings for me. It usually involves going away somewhere for a weekend, so doubt I'll be able to get there. Hopefully the weather improves by then.
Cheers, Michael

Surprisingly Brian, its only about 60 Miles. You can either go straight through Derry City, or a more interesting trip, is to take the short ferry crossing across Lough Foyle, from Magilligan Point to Greencastle.
The ferry is off for the winter, but should reopen soon for Spring. Maybe we should all go for Saturdays rideout  :-\

A 'plan' ya say! Not likely  ;)
I've also heard that there is a big motocross event on near Draperstown that weekend, for those who don't want to go too far.
Nice to see the SWM at the Elephant. What do you think of her?

Hi there folks. Anyone from Wales or beyond fancy a trip over for the Irish Rally. I have just got back from abroad and I am contemplating Holyhead to Dublin ferry on the Thursday 19th April and back on Sunday 22nd April on the RE Continental GT. Anybody else going over by this route? If so get in touch? Cheerz Cliff (BradXT) Aberaeron West Wales
