Cliff - as you know Mark, Jethro, Simon, Brian and me are booked for Birkenhead -Belfast overnight on the Thursday. I know it's not your preferred route but should be a good craic.

Thanks Oz. The craic with you lot on board the ferry should be non stop and a laugh a minute. However, a ride into the dead centre of deepest darkest Scouser land, followed by an overnight ferry kipping on the floor of the bar covered in beer doesn't have a great deal of appeal.

Compare this to a nice ride through Snowdonia. up into Angelsey and a ferry across to Dublin at a civilised time of the day. Then followed by a  nice ride up through Ireland to the Sperrins. Seems a very appealing alternative to the aforesaid motorway trip across the English border and on into deepest darkest Scouser land. But thanks again for letting me know Oz.

Hey Tim glad somebody else agrees. Waiting to hear if a certain Mr Steve Dalby is up for a Holyhead to Dublin crossing so I will have some entertainment en route with said fellow. At this stage I am not 100% sure the trip is going to happen, it will probably be a very last minute decision. Cheerz!!

Yep, I'm still here . Been very busy just lately, will call Nutt travel early next week to have a look at crossings.
Cliff, you do realise that if you overnight at Llanfairfechan in the bunkhouse, you need to be up very early in the morning the next day to be able to get to Holyhead for the crossing, which I believe is about 8 in the morning so get there an hour before say 7 which means you need to be on the road by 6 as the road across to Holyhead terminal will be about an hour.

Cliff I will pm my tel number and we can discuss.

Cheers Steve
If I'm not working I'll be away on my bike camping!

My attendance is now dependant on the arrival of grandson no 2. He's not supposed to make an appearance until early May, but the little bugger made a bid for freedom over the weekend when the daughter went into premature labor.

They've managed to thwart his attempt this time, but if the little blighter does arrive on or around the 20th April, I guess it'll be frowned upon if I disappear into the sunset on the bike :(.

He's not even here yet and already causing me problems. He's obviously going to take after his big brother who wore me out came to stay over the weekend.....

Hey Steve haven't heard from you yet boyo! Get in touch! Aware of timings but still infinitely preferable to visiting Scouseland and sleeping on the floor of the ferry covered in beer.  But we don't have to stay at the bunkhouse at Llanfairyfechan. We can stay nearer to Holyhead but we can talk about that when we speak. Cheerz Cliff

Hi Tim you are right, we have left the bunkhouse at Llanfairyfechan early before and no problems getting the ferry.  Not heard from anybody so if I do make it, it will be a solo trip. But its going to be a last minute decision. Also waiting for a rack to arrive from Hitchcocks for my Continental GT so I can some carry some gear.  Cheerz Cliff

Steve has been in touch and we are looking to make it over to Shepherds Rest via Holyhead to Dublin.  Any one else interested? Cliff
