You are an OPTIMIST Tommy, after this years debacle you would be advised to take a flotation ring and lifejacket!
Maybe the BRDA 'slush fund' will have to be raided to resurface the "boating pond" again!
Aggregate Industries had the contract, their name should be sh1*e from now on! Here are some classic verbal diarrhoea about the job from the Silverstone website:
"We are resurfacing our whole track from the start line to the finish." Aren't they the same, or is there a dirt track between them?
"......we began laying the high performance asphalt from Aggregate Industries which will not only help with the grip on the track, but also water drainage and speed – making those fast corners even faster!" Aye, aquaplaning is often faster!
".....Managing Director, Stuart Pringle. “I’m hugely excited about the enhanced and, importantly for motorcycles, consistent grip that the new Aggregate Industries asphalt will provide."" None!
And finally; "Stuart noted “It’s hugely impressive to see the accuracy that the Aggregate Industries team is working to. We are addressing some known bumps and dips as well as improving drainage. The result should be very close to the perfect surface for a racing circuit.” Power boating is sure to be on the agenda!
Have a grand time if it works out for you Tommy.
Good health, Bill
