SZR - Throwover Panniers?
« on: April 23, 2007, 09:13:53 PM »
Thumpers,

I'm hoping to get to Dent later in the year, and looking at the luggage carrying capability of the SZR it appears.....limited, shall we say?

Anyone any experience of using throwovers or a tailpack on the SZR? There are no bungee hooks, and removing the rear footpeg hangers has left what appears to be zero mounting points for bungees. The shape of that wierd rear end leads me to suspect throwovers might disappear off the back of the bike somewhere up the M6....the tank is rather helpfully made of plastic ruling out most tankbags also and I reckon the bars would make a tankbag as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit.....

Cheers guys,

Roger K.

I bought some strapping and made a strap which went over the seat and bolted to the original seat strap bolts, then made two loops which I fitted at the back of the seat and were held down by teh bolts holding the rear of the tailpeice down (just below rear of seat). I then attached everything to the bike using these straps and the rear footrest mounts.

Cheers Steve, how did you get on with the tankbag, and what kind was it?
